The Club has facilities for table tennis and tennis members are welcome to play at any time, provided it does not interfere with tennis (which takes priority at all times). Non-members are required to pay a visitor's fee of £1 per visit, up to a maximum of 3 visits a year, after which a table tennis membership subscription is required. This costs £20 pa. Organised social play sessions take place during the Autumn/Winter months on Tuesday evenings, commencing 7.30 pm. Please feel free to contact Gavin or Clare (details below) if you would like to come along and try your hand. Juniors are welcome too. Competitive play is also available - For the last couple of years, we have entered a team in the Autumn/Winter SHAW (St Albans, Hatfield & Welwyn) Table Tennis League. In the 2008/09 season, the Orchard team (captained by Jeff Willcocks) came fifth out of twelve teams in the 3rd Division. We have entered a team in the League for 2009/10 and new players would be welcome. We are also hoping to run an Orchard Table Tennis Championship in 2010 if there is sufficient interest. Please note that when the table is not in use it is kept padlocked in the Clubhouse. Members wishing to organise their own games will first of all need to register their interest and find out about the security of the table and the net. Please ensure the table and equipment is put away after use, the lights are turned off when leaving the clubhouse and the key is returned.
