This year, the draws are available and managed via the LTA website. Courts need to be booked for all matches. To do this all you need to do is check the diary and send an email to booking@orchardtennis.co.uk. Bookings are on a first come first served basis.

CLUB TOURNAMENT GUIDELINES 2011

 

1.      It is the responsibility of the person or pairing on the top of each draw to make prompt contact with the opposition to arrange the playing of each round (i.e. within seven days of their opponent being determined), although the opposition is encouraged to make the necessary contact too.  In exceptional circumstances it may be necessary to scratch players from the Tournament if the necessary effort has not been made to arrange for matches to be completed in good time.

2.      Courts may be booked by contacting Aleem Cummins (07894 967964) or e mailing bookings@orchardtennis.co.uk.  Please note that league matches, club events, match practice, coaching and social tennis will take priority for court bookings.

3.      All matches must be played by the deadlines stated.  All entrants are expected to offer good availability during both weekday evenings and weekends such that all matches can be played at Orchard LTC.  Extensions to these deadlines will only be allowed in exceptional circumstances and must be agreed by (a) both players/pairings, (b) the opponents in the next round and (c) the Tournament Committee.

4.      Following each match the winners should enter their names into the next round on the tournament sheet posted in the clubhouse and email the score or outcome of the match  bookings@orchardtennis.co.uk  The club website www.orchardtennis.co.uk will be updated accordingly throughout the tournaments.

5.      The Mini Red  tournament will be the best of 1 ten point tie break, which will be played on a round

      Robin basis, with the best 2 points score playing in a final.

6.       The Mini Orange tournament will be the best of 3 seven point tie break, which will be played on a  round Robin basis, with the best 2 playing in a final

7.      The Mini Green Tournament sets 1& 2 First to 4 games, tie break at 4-4, set 3 Match tiebreak  (to 10  points with 2 clear)  will be played on a round robin basis with the top 2 playing in a final                                                   

8.       For all other tournament matches will be the best of three sets, with a tie-break for first two sets and long set for the third set.

9.      The qualification date for age purposes for the Junior Tournaments is 31st August of the current year.  For example, all entrants in the Under 14 Tournaments must be aged 13 or under on 31st August of this year.

10.  All entrants should ensure that they are available to play on the Finals Day and the Reserve Finals Day.  The Singles Finals will start from 11am onwards and the Doubles Finals from 2pm onwards.

11.  Postponement of finals will only be considered in truly exceptional circumstances and will only take place with the agreement of all competing players and the Tournament Committee. 

12.  In the event that a player or pairing becomes aware after the start of a tournament that they would not be able to play in the final, then they must withdraw from that tournament prior to the semi-final stages and inform the Tournament Committee.

13.  In the event that a player or pairing becomes aware after reaching the semi-final of a tournament that they would not be able to play in the final, then the player or pairing must withdraw from that tournament immediately and inform the Tournament Committee.

14.  In the event that a player or pairing becomes aware having reached the final of a tournament that they would not be able to play in the final, then they should inform the Tournament Committee immediately.  The Tournament Committee reserves the right to invite the semi-finalist who had previously lost to that player or pairing to play in the final in their place.

16.  The Tournament Committee below has been appointed.  Their decisions regarding any aspects of the Tournaments will be final.
